As far as I understand people over 55 who was not tested and minor children do not show DM - they go straight to oath -
I don't believe that's the case. They will still go through the same processing, with the exception of having to meet the language requirement and take the test. Their status goes through the same changes as a regular adult application.

Yes they go through the same process but ecas is not updated to show DM after the interview - over 55 - minus test

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I was certain that others in the forum have had parents over 55 go through the process that went through the same status changes.

I have yet to see a person over 55 who did just the interview show DM soon after - if you see one let me know and post the link
 
Got the email regarding Oath Ceremony on June 6th at Scarborough. We applied on Oct 17th under new rule & test was on Mar 19

My husband and I are over 55, with a child who is a minor.
Our status changed to DM the day after our interview, whereas our son’s stayed at IP...he didn’t attend the interview.
We all got separate invites for our oath ceremony yesterday.
