Hi Friends,

I have a silly question regarding the Media release form, do i have to sign it when i arrive for the ceremony? Or i can have it pre-signed beforehand?

The guy at the front desk checks to make sure it's signed. I don't know if he actually needs to witness you signing it, though. I suppose that if you really want to sign it beforehand, you can do so and if he has a problem with it, he'd just have you sign another. Is there a reason you wouldn't want to sign it when you get there?

Well i dont see any good reason to say "No" to media release. They ask you just in case if the media is covering the event, you are allowing them to take your pictures or take your interview or a permission to cic to release your pictures or video to media if they want to.

I have been a silent follower of this forum for a while. I am another October applicant who did the test in Scarborough a while ago but will take the oath in Mississauga (I live in Etobicoke)

My timeline is as follows:

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 13, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on December 11, 2017.
3. We started processing your application on December 28, 2017.
4. We sent you a notice on April 17, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on May 4, 2018 at 8:15 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

I got DM status on May 5th, 2018 and Step 5 does not yet appear in eCAS (likely tomorrow).

I have received the oath invitation via email and I'm summoned in August 10th, 2018 at Mississauga IRCC office (it seems they transferred my file).

I wish luck to everybody, it seems things are moving along, the "O"(ath) day is very very close!

Lucky you, got transferred but even receive the oath invite faster than in Scarborough. Congrats!

Congrats! My wife and I did out test on the same day and time in Scarborough (May 4, 2018 at 8:15 AM). Hopefully soon we'll have such a post.

Someone who took the test the same day/time as me at Scarborough got his invite 2 weeks ago for end of July. Still waiting here. It all seems totally random unfortunately.
