Hi folks,

I've been silently reading posts for a little while and decided to share my story for the information and hopefully, benefit of others.

I am a male Canadian citizen working in Saudi Arabia. I got married to a Saudi citizen in 2011. I plan to take my wife for a visit to my parents in Canada this fall. I applied for a single visit TRV for her on Wednesday, the 13th of June, 2012.

In order to convince the VO, I included a cover letter from me stating clearly that I work in Saudi and am married to my wife, who also works in Saudi. I explained that she is strongly attached to her parents and siblings (2) who are all in Saudi. I also mentioned that this i the very reason I moved to Saudi and don't plan on moving to Canada anytime soon, which is why I haven't applied to sponsor her as a PR.

I also attached a copy of my passport, employment letter, her employment letter, her approved vacation request paper showing the return date and bank statements for 6 months for the both of us. I also attached a print out of an email sent from my mother to me, addressing the Canadian Embassy and telling them that her son and daughter in law are visiting for a month - and that we will be staying at her place for the duration of our trip. Also attached a (scanned) copy of her passport.

I sent those in, like I said on the 12th of June, it arrived at the embassy via courier on the 13th. The 14th and 15th are weekend days here and by the 16th the Visa was processed. Shipped on the 17th and arrived on the 18th. So basically the actual work took only 2 business days. Fantastic I say.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any questions.
