Saudi Arabia visa query

To all the people applying from Saudia or even MIddle East, I really want to know the weeks it is taking to get the approval (or an answer) from the embassy?
There are some people who get the response within 2 weeks while others have to wait for 7 or 8 weeks.
On CIC website it is mentioned 5 weeks which are long over.

What shall I do...? I mailed riyadh embassy and they replied that the timings are 8-10 weeks and only if this period is over, we should contact them.
I am really worried as my transistion started from 28th Aug and there is no Jan intake for which I could defer.

That is awkward. Your case is similar to mine. I have apply from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since June 12 , and I did not get the approval for the student visa, so I have did deferral to the next semester and still waiting for the visa.In addition to that I have a valid study permit because I was I Canada befor returning home for a vocation last June.

So you applied in June...that means its been more than 12 weeks? Contact the embassy as so many people hear get it in 3 -4 weeks.
Can you tell your nationality and your profile in detail please?

I am Saudi sponsored by the government to do my master. I was in Canada until the last June , hence, I have a valid study permit until the next year. I have applied as I mentioned befor and still waiting. I do not know wheather the delay is a special case or what is normal.
