depends on how many countries you have been visited. Also, if your criminal record is clear :)

Just now I found that you maybe need a visa for transit in UK even for one hour. It depends on your nationality. As naeeem said he needs visa for both UK and USA.
Please check if you need UK visa for transit(connecting flight)

Go to
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/
Then choose Do I need a Visa?
As a result I changed my flight to Turkish Airline using Istanbul as transit airport because there is no transit visa there.
Wish you all check UK visa as Saudi airports will not allow you to pass if you don't have UK visa.

Hello Hassan and All,

Yes i am residing in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. Below is my timeline:

Application Filed to CIO on 29 April 2010
NOC 0213
First File Number Received from CIO on 5 August 2010
Second File Number Received from London Visa office on 5 October 2010
June 2011 My application online was showing "in process" with RBVO details
a line that processing has started on 17 May 2012 was added to my online status in May 2012.
I have received an email asking for the medical test dated on the 23rd of October, but i only received the letter on the 20th of November 2012.
I have done the medical test on the 23rd of November and it arrived to the visa office on the 26th of November.
Later at 2nd January 2013 I was asked to pay the Right of Permanent Residency Fee. The visa office recieved the money on 9 January 2013.

Does this mean i should wait 2-6 months for passport request from the date of the medical request letter (20th of November 2012) or from the date the visa office received it (26 November)?

OR

Does it mean i should wait 2-6 months from the date I have received the letter to pay the Right of Permanent Residency Fee (2nd Jan 2013)?

Hi Ehab,

I just checked the link which you have shared and "countries covered by the DATV system" which don't required to obtain visa during transit until unless you have decided to come out from the airport. China and Pakistan both are included in the list mentioned below which don't required to obtain visa during transit for less then 12 hours for e.g. however for US you need to obtain transit visa no matter how much time you will stay within airport.

its mentiomed that

If you will arrive on a flight, remain in the arrival lounge of the airport without passing through immigration control, and then depart on another flight from the same airport, you do not need a UK visa. This is called 'transiting airside'.

so plz check again ..
