Just saw this thread! Nice to see more people going through SP!

Also waiting on AOR, I heard it takes about a month or so after sponsor approval...Of courser, we are also hoping for a fast process!

I have also talked to the VOs ladies before and they were really helpful. I will wait until after xmas, if we dont have an AOR, to see if they have our file.

Boa sorte!

I emailed the consulate throught the CIC online system this morning, and they replied already!

They only said they have received my file and the medicals, but nothing about "processing" so I guess I am not there yet....

I have to tell you that over the phone was impossible, but I hope it has something to do with the "xmas rush" and it's not a general thing...

Who do you talk to when you call? is it brazilian office staff or do you actually talk to the immigration officers?

Cheers!

Over the phone, I use extension numbers, it usually works quickly.

I think they were staff, they speak Portuguese and English well. None of them so far spoke French!

Xau

I have to say, that I think we have one of the better VO, they sent me an email telling me they received my wife's file and even gave me the file number!

Xau

I am certainly hoping so... They were pretty fast in getting back to me too.

Hey did you apply through Quebec? Did you receive your CSQ?

I am trying to find out if the VO has already received ours, I will email them again to find out.

We are on a time crunch right now, I don't know if I told you but my husband is with me but his visa expires Jan 30, and he got a job offer.... Unfortunately we can't really apply for an open work permit, I don't think they would approve it....

I am cautiously optimistic... :D

Im originally from Quebec, but have been in Ontario for 20 some years! S, no CSQ needed. Cant help you there.

Lucky you to be together, enjoy it. My wife has came to Canada on a visa before, but they denied her last one (after we got married)...Anyways, for your husband visa, it depends what kind of visa he currently has. If its a visitor visa, he will not be able to work until he has his PPR. But he can extend the visa because he applied, not sure of all the details.

If he cant work because f his visa status, if I were him, I would propose to them to work as a volunteer until his PPR arrives, it will give him great experience too!

Let me know how that goes! Now, just waiting on AOR. I think when we receive AOR, that means they are starting to work on our file!

Até mais tarde!

Hi folks happy holidays and merry Christmas!
Thought I give you an update...
My lovely wife from Bahia saw her first snow here in BC! We arrived at home the 16th of Dec!
So my friends waiting for CIC Sao Paulo relax because your visa will be ready very soon I'm sure.
Our complete process from mailing the sponsor/applicant package to Mississauga to my wife(the applicant) receiving a phone call
from Sao Paulo to tell her it was ready took only four months. 4 months!
The online notification system worked great, it was updated at every move it seemed. From receiving my
docs in Mississauga to sponsorship granted, mailed to Sao Paulo... received in SP.... medicals received...
in process... decision made... to the very end showing visa granted to landed immigrant.
Something like that!

We passed through Toronto Int like the breeze.. thank you mam and welcome to Canada (with a smile!)

I'm still a little shocked how easy it was...

after working on the papers for a YEAR that was the hard part.

I feel for those in other countries waiting so much longer. Crazy world.

@shiftpro

Thanks for the update!

We are also hoping for a quick process, we also worked hard on the application (a year as well). I have talked to Sao Paulo and they have been very good, so that bodes well.

Im hoping this gets approved so that my wife sees snow on arrival!

Happy holidays too!

Thanks for the update...

I am extremely hopeful our process will be as smooth as yours. I know that with the holidays it may take a little more than 4 months, but I have a great feeling about this :D

Happy holidays to you all!

I have one question...
We received an e-mail midle of december saying that they received our application.
Now we can acess E-Cas but still only the information received...

How long after did you received the answer of approval??

Obrigada!

This is a tough one, because as they say on the CIC website, the average for this Visa office is 10 months; however, it very well could be less than that.

I am hoping for that, but there is no way of knowing for sure.

When did you send in your application to CIC Mississauga?

Good Luck!

De nada

Remember my friends ours only took 4 months!

Hello!

I've applied in Sao Paulo as well, but my category is Provincial Nominee (PNP). My processing time should be similar to the family class, and there are no other PNP posts for Sao Paulo, so I hope you don’t mind my participation in this forum.

Sao Paulo received my application in November 25th, and I am still waiting for my AOR.

I saw that many of you had your files transferred to Sao Paulo in November 2011 as well; did somebody receive the AOR already?

As far as AOR, they are very helpful in Sao Paulo. You can just email them and they will let you know that the file has arrived.

PNP posts are rare here, but theres a whole section of the forum dedicated to this.

Boa sorte!
