So, no DM this month?

Doesn't look like it. Are you in background check yet?

Yes. We requested our notes in the beginning of the month, probably gonna receive it next week. But I'm not so excited because they probably are not touching our applications. God knows why.

That's what we discovered when we got our notes! The dates are all in November (the month we applied) or exactly March 28th (the day after we requested our notes). We've already ordered them again in hopes that they've continued to work on them, or at least to not let them sit untouched for so long again!

Let us know what you see in your notes when you get them!

I received my notes last night, and I am in the same situation, and it is so frustrating!

It is frustrating! I keep trying to remind myself that it could be a lot worse... the cic website quoted 10 months when we applied and that's changed to 12, but we're still on track to have PR before then!

At least there isn't anything negative or alarming in the notes! Just the predictable slowness/inaction.

Will you order your notes again soon?

Hi guys,

So happy to find this forum!

Let me share my timeline....

Application sent: November 15th, 2016
AOR: November 18th, 2016
SA: December 12th, 2016
No news since then :(

I have a question... I read you guys talking about "requesting notes". What exactly is that and how do I do it?

Thank you so much and best of luck to all of us.

Welcome!

The notes are what the officers have written in your file about your case. You can order them here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp
They cost $5 and take around a month to be sent. You need to prove your right to request by proving your Canadian citizenship (or PR) or proving that you're currently in the country. If the sponsor requests them the primary applicant needs to fill out a consent form (IMM5744).

You can add your timeline and details to the spreadsheets (links under my post). I'm both São Paulo and November applicant too. It's nice to compare with each other to try to get an idea of when the next step might happen!

:) Good luck!

I don't think so

Thank you so much for the information! I will be requesting my notes soon.

I'll add my details to the spreadsheet right now. Definitely good to compare dates with everyone else.

Hey everyone!

No news on our application, but I wanted to share that my husband had his eta approved, so now he can go to Canada as a visitor to wait for his PR!

I can't remember who, but some of you were talking about traveling to Canada with the application still in progress, wondering how difficult it might be. The eta option opened yesterday and most people we heard had their eta approved in about ten minutes but it took about a day for ours, we were starting to get worried!

I'm hoping for lots of PPRs in May!

I got my eTA approved yesterday as well! Took me 2 min to get the email!
I'm in Canada right now waiting for the process and my visa expired last March but because I got stamp until July I still in Canada! but I have to travel out next month so it's good to have that option!

I got my GCMS notes today! Apparently they haven't touched my application since february, which was when I got the last updates. Eligibility says "recommend passed" and the notes say "would recommend to waive interview", at least those are very good news :)

It's reassuring to see those good notes, isn't it? I hope you get PPR soon! We're watching for your updates! I think you're first in the group of us in background check and I think once you get PPR the rest of us should follow soon after!

It sure is! Thank you so much, I hope we all receive good news very soon :) I'm also following your updates and I'm sure it's gonna end up good!

Hello everyone,

I’ve been offline for a while as I was getting highly anxious about the process. I have good and bad news to share! SPVO has contacted us asking for additional info. Our process is for common-law and it seems I gave them not clear info when filling out forms so they are questioning our +1 year co-habitation.

We have 30 days to reply and I may ask guidance from an immigration lawyer how to address their concerns. Last year I felt brave enough to fill out all forms and assembling the process myself . I don’t want to risk make silly mistakes again.

Best and good lucky to you all !
