Thank you!

Assuming your husband's in Brazil, I don't think it's necessary. They'll send it back to him through normal mail.

That is the problem. He on the roca, in the middle of nowhere!!! I am scared it might get lost in the mail. I told him to send it fedex and put a prepaid fedex envelope with his retiun address on it. I am hoping that will be safer....

Your process was really quick. Hopefully you'll get your passport back soon and be on your way to Canada... Where are you going to in Canada? If you don't mind me asking of course.

Yeah I wouldn't trust 'Correios' either, they used to go through our packages to look for valuable items... And they're always on strike if I'm not mistaken. Better safe than sorry! Besides, you can track with FedEx!

Yes it was! I'm very thankful and I'm sure yours would've been faster if it wasn't for the strike. Maybe your papers got lost in the piles. ???
I'm kind of having a hard time contacting a courier in this part of Japan so I'll have to mail my passport to my boyfriend in Canada so he can use UPS!
I'm going to Saskatoon! ;D So cold, I know! What about you.

I am the Canadian/Portugese half of this process. We live in London, Ontario. We bought a house just before my husband left to Brazil to wait the process.

I truly don't think it matters where you are in Canada anymore, Winter will always be cold.

Is there a amount of time we have to get the passport to the Consulate??

Have you ever been to Saskatchewan? I've never been to ON but i bet it's more exciting!
They gave me 30 days to submit the passport at the end of the e-mail they sent me. Did they give you a deadline too?
And they said they'd mail it back to us after 2-3 weeks.

No I have never been to Saskatchewan, but will one day for sure!
The email they sent me just said for him to send his passporte and that the visa was good for a year until his medical was vailid.

They didn't say nothing else. Now I am confused?? :o

Still no AOR received, not sure what is happening :(

My husband just sent his passport on Monday May 5th.... I have no idea if they have it yet or not. But I am assuming they have it because the guy at Fedex told my husband it would take two days to get there. Nothing every changes on the CIC website.
I am still stressed... My stress will only end the day I see my husband in Canada!!!!

Now I wonder how long it will take for them to send it back to him.

Did he get a tracking number? I've requested for e-mail notifications from UPS in case of delays and when it gets delivered so I feel more in control :P. I honestly believe you'll see a Decision Made on ECAS in a couple weeks! Good luck.

Never use UPS.
The Brazilian UPS staff is really dense. UPS Canada was able to get my passport to Brazil in less than three days, but once it got in Brazil, they decide to leave my envelope for last TWICE, you see, I have 3 attempts and they just wasted two. I can't believe I'm going through this.

Hi, guys

Do you know how long it takes for the application to get to Sao Paulo, once you got sponsor's approval???

Thanks,

Thanks,

I don't know but don't expect an AOR from them, you'll only see some movement after "In Process" :)
Unless they ask for additional documents.

OMG!!! I got an email on May 13th from the embassy saying they git my husbands passport and that in a week they would send it out. then it would take two weeks to get to him.
My husband said he sent his passport May 5th by fedex and the embassy only got it on the 13th of may. that is screwed! Brazil is a mess!!! Wow.
Why did you use Fedex form Canada? they told me it would cost 120 dollars but the guaranteed it there in 4 days at the embassy.
I am sorry you are going through this trouble now in the end of your long journey. I wish you the best of luck!! hope you get your passport soon so that you can travel.
my laywer told me to remind my husband to double check the visa to make sure all is correct, name date of birth etc, because if something is wrong they won't let him in on our side. and then we would have to send the passport back and way another month or so for the visa to be re issued!
