Wow, sorry I'm not going through Santiago, but I was curious if your police records were about to expire or expired when you submitted them? As for the Background declaration, I'm not sure, did you sign everything? Did you submit the latest ones? ???

I'm guessing there are two options;
- the documents were outdated when you included them. I'm not sure, but if I remember correctly, the police certificate, marriage certificate, and Hoja de vida del Conductor had to be less than 3 months old (or something similar).
- for some reason they want to make sure there have been no problems between you sending the papers, and them being analysed now.

About submitting them, in another thread you started about the Santiago VO, you'll see that another Chilean had to resubmit papers. He said that he took them to the embassy himself (check the hours and days of the week this option is available), and they had him wait there until they checked everything was in order.

The good news is, they're working on your file!

Thanks for your comments,
My partner dropped them off at the embassy, reason was driver/police checks were almost out of date and they needed an update version to finish processing, and the other document was because it was outdated, in June or July came out with a new one, thou they looked the same but what can you do.......
So hopefully everything we move forward as so far it's been only 3 and half months and we are now at this stage , good think is at least we know they are checking the file as the E.cas doesn't say anything....

Hey melts! That's what exactly happened to me. They requested me the same documents on Nov 19th. It seems they are working on our app together hehe. Please keep posting Any extra information that could help us on this waiting!. As for me I haven't heard anything since I went dropped the documents off, Which was right at the next day they requested! :p

I'm wondering why I haven't been contacted, even though I applied in August as well. I did confirm my police and driving certificates were relatively recent (only 2 months old by the time I applied), so I'm hoping that's the reason--- they don't need me to re-send them ::)7

I do believe they're working on you guys' papers; good luck to us all!!

Hey compatriotas,

Just thought I would mention that I got an email today asking for me to send them a few forms again, along the Certificado de Antecedentes & Hoja de Vida del Conductor.

Do any of you have any news yet? Have you heard anything else from the Embassy?

As for me, nop! Last time they required me the same document, however I haven't heard anything from them. And that was on nov 20th, 2012. So good luck.

Ok, thanks for the answer. Let's hope we'll both hear something soon :)

Hola compatriotas,

Any news?

Nothing here!

Hi there

No still haven't heard anything yet :(

pray harder ! 8)

and add me in your prayers....I need all the help I can get !

Hi! Same here.. Nothing.. :/

I emailed them last thursday asking if they needed me to get a new police certificate and historial del conductor since it's been three months since they requiered them and they might were expired already. It took me just 30 minites to get an answer saying that my application was in process and no further actions were requiered at this time. That's it. :/ ah they thanked me for my patience and keeping my correspondence to a minimum . Haha

LOL and they don't know how hard it is to wait!

Ok, then, no news for anybody ::)

I really need my PR to be ready by July/August! ???

hey guys.. I got an email from immigration and I was called for an interview... :/ I kind of freaked out... also, they asked me to bring documents to demonstrate that I kept the relationship during this year i've been in chile. I guess i'll have to star to collect all the necessary information. ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
