Hello guys, Can u please help me, Im confused of how Im gonna sponsor my gf back in the Philippines. We've been dating for 8 years already and we were living in the same dormitory but in different rooms. Now, when I applied for my VISA, .I didnt declare her since I just consider her as my gf so i just put there single coz at that time, I didn't know then the difference or where our relationship belong...is it conjugal, plain gf...or common law partner. Now I wanted her to come with me, but I am worried, the VISA officer would labeled our relationship then as conjugal or common law and I failed to declare it. By the way, our relationship has been keep secret even up to now.. It's only my sister knows about it. Please help me, what will I do to let her come and join me here?..thanks

are you already a PR? if your in common law you should declare your partner while your filling your PR application. if not, your application will denied.

CIC may think that you were common-law before landing, so you may have to do extra work to prove that you were not. If you did not in fact live together for 12 consecutive months before you became a PR, then you are okay. If you were common-law, but did not declare it, then you can never sponsor her.

Thanks Milesaway... How are they going to think that we are common law? Let us say, we didn't live together but in a relationship for 8 years... U think it's already okay? because if I'm not mistaken, I think they had asked me also about my conjugal partner...I dont know...Perhaps I forgot it already...or it is only the spouse and common law partner that were being asked in the application...
I dont know if conjugal partner has been ask there too...because if it was asked then the visa officer would question why I haven't declared her.. Please help... and thanks for the reply.

You will have to list your addresses. It doesn't take a lot of effort to see that you will have the same address listed.

I believe that when you are applying for PR through one of the other streams, you can only list a common-law partner or spouse, but not conjugal.
