Hello. I have a question about same-sex marriage in Canada.
Now, my partner and I will go to Canada on this december. My partner will go to Canada with non-visa and I will go there together with study permit in that I will study in BC. Because both are korean, my partner has visa exempt.
By the way, because we cannot marry in Korea (the government does not recognize same-sex marriage), we want to marry in Canada.
My concern is that whether there is any possibility of deportation for my partner or not if we marry after we arrive Canada. Of course, I know that overstaying is illegal, but we do not want to do that and we will not do that. I just concern that whether marriage is one of the reasons of deportation or not. I wonder this because I saw some guidence about marriage in Canada from american organization. They say there is a possibility of deportation for my partner depending on our circumstance.
