Same NOC 2173 but two different comapnies, one with 10 months experience

Dear Members,

I have 10 months experience as software engineer in one company and then onwards 23 months in another. I wanted to know that in EE will I be applying with 33 months or 23 months as first experience is less than an year. I am grateful for any help.

Hi,
It is a complicated question. If I were you, I would sum up the months (I would say 33 months of experience) and then I would get 2 letters (one from each employer). Because that's exactly how many months you have worked. I did this for Quebec Skilled Workers and they counted everything, even a 4-month experience I had in a specific company. They just calculated the total months of experience.
But again, I am not sure.

You can contact them by email or by phone. I tried copying the link and this would not allow it. But just google: contaccting cic or IRCC web form.

Although I have called in the past and they are not of much help regarding EE. What they told me was that they could not answer questions about EE, that all the information was online. Which is not true because things like this you can not find them online.

By email, you will have to fill the IRCC web form to send them an email. You get a notification email saying they got your email, and then if you are lucky, they will answer.
Try calling as well, maybe it was the attendant I talked to, but it may be different for you.
