It really depends on many things.
- years of experience
- any specialties?
- expertise with Canadian HR/Privacy legislation etc (provincial and federal)
- Canadian CHRP designation or equivalent experience
What type of HR work did you used to do?
How many people did you manage?
How large was your responsibility?
Did you have strategic influence capability at the leadership table?
Salary is often based on experience, skills and qualifications -- so it can be very difficult to 'guesstimate' without knowing enough information.
I'd suggest you review your skills/qualifications against posted positions on www.workopolis.com, www.eluta.ca, www.indeed.ca and see what level you are equivalent to in the Canadian market. Once you know the approximate level, then use the salary surveys to get a better understanding of your approx. salary. Don't rely on the current title you have, but focus on your accountabilities to see what level you would be here.
