Hello,

I am looking to rent an apartment in Calgary, and I know SW is the best area. I need to know what neighborhoods nears to LTR, schools, shopping malls I need to look at.

Thanks a lot.

Go to google map and you would find the LTR, schools and shopping malls. Why do you say SW is the best area?

That's what I read online and people recommended it over NE or SE. I did checked online but couldn't come up with good location

Still why do you say NW is not as good as SW? Have you checked the school district website and compare it with calgary transit and google map?

In Calgary every area has something gud or something not so gud, its all depends on ones preference. if you are looking for gud schools then NW has the most reputed schools, but again u can live anywhere and drop and pick your kids.
if you are looking for LRT then ne and sw are most connected areas, but again its will be hard to find a place just next to lrt station.

Hello . I am lady looking for one room -one bath/kitchen apartment or basement or to be shared with another lady how can I do that?

'u can live anywhere and drop and pick your kids.'

Just thought I'd reply to the above comment - Schools in Calgary work according to catchment areas, so you have to live in a designated area around schools to register your children there. I'm also shortly moving to Calgary and have school aged children, so have been researching it. Word of caution though, some Calgary schools are over subscribed and kids end up getting bussed to overflow schools. Before you buy/rent a home, call up the catchment school and check they have space. Calgary board of education website is really useful for checking schools info and catchment areas: http://www.cbe.ab.ca/Pages/default.aspx

Good luck and see you in cowtown :D

Here's a link that I found very useful when I was looking for a place in Montreal: navut.com/calgary
What it does is enable you to enter your criteria (proximity to downtown & amenities, budget, preferred neighbours...) and then it matches you with the neighborhood in Calgary that best fits your lifestyle. You can then look at properties in that neighborhood, and directly contact a realtor on the page.
I hope this helps!

I am also wondering that....

All Calgary is safe and beautiful, can't see why someone would say "it is better to live here better than there" the only thing is personal preference.
