Canada is quite a safe country, you can carry in wallet/ pocket. Can divide the sum in 2 pockets also.

I am too looking for a safest way to carry all the cash (all the amount i got in US dollars). Most of the people advised me to take 20% to 25% in cash and make bank draft for the remaining amount.

Some of them advised me to divide the cash into 2 OR 3 parts and travel with them. Few guys traveled using the same method (100% cash)

Canada is safe, but keeping all that cash while traveling can be a risk. I will be using connecting flights (Khi-Doha-Montreal-Calgary). Probably, i will be going for the 1st option (25% cash - 75% bank draft)

yes that option is still the best ,but keep in mind to inform immigration officer if travelling more than $10000 cash in your pockets

As others opined, like in any travel situation, distributing the "cash" between all ur "cabin baggages" is a wise act. I wouldn't put them in the "check-in baggages" for sure.

Hi Qorax,

If somebody is having a bank account in Canada before landing and he transfers money to that account and show the statement of the canadian bank account as proof of funds in that case how much money we should carry with us as cash.

I have a question related to proof of fund. I would like to know if I can use US currency (USD) as proof of funds at the port of entry in Canada?

Yes you can. However, It should be equivalent as per their demand in $CAN.

What about any other currency equivalent to CAD? e.g. Dirhams
