Canada respects everyone's identity or culture. Everyone's culture I suppose should respect Canada's Laws and Regulation.

I total agree with you Canada and Canadian people respects everyone's identity but with the comments in the post i am starting to believe why some countries take longer and should have more checks than other and do we really want people from these countries bring in there hate for minorities CIC please take as long as you want to check to make sure we do not get people like this in to are country

That's "our" country. :)

And I don't hate minorities. I AM a minority...several of them, in fact. Including Indian. I have no problems with people on the basis of their ethnicity, I would be a fool to, considering how many people have problems with me because of mine! I have problems with favouritism on the basis of race and country, with cheats, liars and fraudsters, and ALL of these are present in the Immigration process.

Well Said ... I agree !

My thoughts exactly CharlieD

I did not read any sort of racism in your comments.

Hahahaha

so us calling a spade a spade is being chalked up as racism oh plz we are simply saying the immigration process has its favourites and these same favourites are doing what the non favourites are doing point blank period so the entire process shpuld be even across the board same processing time.

i see in all your posting a problem (and yes i have read them) I have a issue with people like you to be honest!!! Favoritism BS you come from a country were gangs and crime is what normal and you wounder why it takes so long to get a visa YOUR the one that said it is easy or fast to come from some places like China LOOK at the time and months 18 months they come from India because the government knows they can trust them unlike some countries. Unfortunately people like you worry why do other get visa faster them my group look into your self and people who are not prestigious can spot you and your friends with lout looking to hard that a test it shows with out you knowing
the more they check the better it is from the people that should come to Canada

Wow so boblu you personally do not mind the unfair practices, and speaking as a Jamaican we are not the only country that have crime but this is not the palce to debate that as this is about fairness in the immigration process.

This is one of theose subjects that are touchy and only a person with first hand knowledge can truly comment with any degree of accuracy. If you have no understanding of the culture and what really goes on with these arranged marriages you are not in a position to comment one way or another. Yes there are many fraudulent marriages and they do take advantage of the system but again there are some cases which are genuine and where the grooms go to their home countries and get married and then mistreat their wives because of insufficient dowry or such issues. In this case if the woman in the story was telling the truth and she was not aware that the husband had changed his mind she will indeed have a miserable life if she returns home as a divorced woman so even though Canada does not owe her anything. The husband should not get away scott free. But who determines these things?? All I am saying is have a little compassion guys!! Don't judge too quickly.

Don't get me wrong I'm just reacting from the quote above. So I said " Canada respects everyone's identity or culture. Everyone's culture I suppose should respect Canada's Laws and Regulation". And giving my opinion about the Groom in this topic. And I agrre for making the same processing times the same accross the board.

I want to chime in. I really do. But I'm heading out the door to teach a seminar on spousal sponsorships. :P Maybe later then.

Will just say, CharlieD, you know I'm a fan. Chin up and don't worry about the haters.

You all know there is no perfect policy and there NEVER will be one. Not while we live in an imperfect world where the standards of living as well as rights and freedoms of people vary greatly. And c'mon people, you know that the speed of processing applications has to do with 1) size of the staff of a visa office 2) volume of applications received and 3) historical incidence of fraud. Some of those visa offices with fast processing ALSO have some of the highest rates of refusals.

Back later!

:D

I may be in the audience one day for one of those seminars! Now hurry up and get back here and express a proper length opinion!

i totally agree rjessome! no matter how strict the policies are there will be some flaws.. and anyway we don't have any choice but to abide (and be honest) and wait.. ;)

The issue is...no matter what issues you have in your marriage...it does not entitle you automatically to a PR.

Scenario 1: Clearly he intended to ditch her, so why should he get PR when it was because of her he stood to gain it?

Scenario 2: We are sorry that this happened to the bride. The groom was an ass but this scenario could of also happened in her own home country too...she could of married a local guy and he could of ditched her. She would face the same issues. BUT its not for the Canadian Government to 'rescue her'. Thats life..crap happens when you enter into a marriage contact...not everyone has a happy ending. I strongly believe he told her before that he had withdrawn. But she figured if she landed, she would get the PR automatically.

No matter what happens in your marriage, the Canadian Government is not responsible to make your life happier by giving you a free pass i.e. pr.
