Hello everyone, I saw a post today somewhere that says NOC occupation restriction is going to be put into Express Entry again some time mid-year 2016. I searched around and couldn't find anything about it. Does anybody know if this rumor is true, or have any information on that? Thanks a lot :)

I know that NOC list is being updated this year and I really count on it and hope trucking industry is a powerful lobby with suitcases full of money

They update it every 5 years. Don't forget, there is a huge truckers shortage and one of the plans is to recognize it as a skilled profession which will allow to refund training. Right now they ae eliminating all those backyard schools where for a 1000$ you can get CDL.

No official news on this front so just a rumor.

Thanks Asivad. I really hope this is not true. Many of us are graduating soon and preparing to apply. If I heard my NOC is removed I'd be so devastated.

I don't think there will ever be NOC restrictions because of the way Express Entry works. EE isn't applicant driven, no need to block NOCs.

Judging by my own understanding, as well as what I have been told, Express Entry was created to explicitly be NOC agnostic (inasmuch as the NOC in question is eligible within the parameters of the program you are applying for), so this seems unlikely.

That's not to say IRCC can't suddenly decide to make NOC-specific draws in EE. We all know they are very well capable of changing immigration policy in an instant.
