RTD Renewal Timeline and Validity of RTD

Hi there.

I am a protected person, and I got my PR through Spousal Sponsorship (Applied after the IRB decision)

I received my RTD before I became PR, so it was valid for 2 years only.

Now since the RTD will be expired soon. and I need to travel to see my family ( Who lived in Third Country), Do you know how much the processing time is for the RTD renewal?

I heard that they are processing applications faster these days.

Another Question, Since I am PR now, Do I receive RTD for 5 years? I mean even though I had the PR through spousal sponsorship, not through the Protected person pathway.

This one is tricky but i think you can use your PR card to apply for 5yrs since you are still with PP Status
