Hello Everyone !

Just wanted to share my experience so far :

Applied for Citizenship in February 2013 (Started Processing April 9th, 2013)
- Got an letter RQ in the end of June... Reply to RQ was sent with all documents within 5 days.
- Spoke to CIC after exactly 1 year and they said we received additional documents (RQ) in JUL '14, and processing time is non-routine

Applied for PR Card renewal in February 2014 (Started Processing February 17, 2014)
- Got an letter RQ for the PR Card application as well... Reply to RQ was sent with EXACT SAME supporting documents within 3 days.
- Got a call from CIC agent asking a few questions and a few more documents
- Got a letter saying "you have met the requirements" and your PR Card has been sent to processing department on 2nd July, 2014.
- Online status changed to "Decision Made," along with "...was approved on July 23rd, 2013. Will be mailed etc..." (21 days later)

HERE IS THE INTERESTING THING ....

Both the applications have the SAME travel dates during of my "3 year pre-requisite residency requirement time" ... actually, my PR card renewal application has an additional 2 weeks of vacation on it. Now, if one CIC department reviewed my supporting RQ documents and after that decided that I WAS HERE IN CANADA for those days and approved my PR Card renewal application, how come the other CIC department that processes the citizenship application has not approved application where I have the the SAME travel days during my 3 year requirement? Both CIC divisions have the same IT system... why DON'T these 2 departments TALK to each other in such cases? Will the non-routine citizen application be looked at the end of year 3 ? LOL !?

Comments would be appreciated on this funny situation on mine... :)

Cheers !

Re: Something Interesting Regarding RQ and CIC (for the experts) !!

Because they intentionally want to delay our case for certain reasons. I really doubt if CIC has a quota of citizenship approval per year.

Are you from that region? I read that those who cheated the system, also created all the fake credit card payments, invoice, bank statement, atm, even rental, salary payment and school attendance. Some lawyers created that for them. That's why RCMP was involved in the investigation.

And it is impossible to review the camera of atm for example, to find a single person, regarding to citizenship application. Maybe if it's a murder case they will do it this way, but not citizenship application. Do you know how many people in that recording? it could be millions.

Yes, I am from Asia... and like I said its sad that people do that and spoil it for the rest of us. However you can't fake medical treatments... i.e. such as in my case, no one else could have gone and got the treatment other than myself. Regular treatments that required me to go to the hospital every 3 weeks etc... other than that I was employed.
