RPRF - Visa Exemption

Are there any visa exempt folks out there who can tell me the expected turn around time between me emailing my RPRF receipt and a scan of my passport and actually receiving COPR?

Does it take CPP a long time to review my file after sending that information in?

Yeah, I sure did. I scanned my stuff in and emailed it on March 20th. Are you visa exempt too jbtoki?

Yup, I am exempted. The instruction says nothing about what page to be sent. So I gave them only photo page like what I did for Provincial and Federal application. Okay, thanks bradderes. I will go back to searching but anyone have any idea?

As far as I have learned from another thread, it seems at least four applicants got their CoPR around 2 to 4 weeks. But those folks are from the beginning of the PPR storm so that it might be better to give it some extra weeks for now to avoid disappointment.
Can anyone update, please?

I was hoping that being visa exempt, and not needing to mail a physical passport would have skipped the sh*t storm that's going on! Ah well, maybe not. I guess we can wait a few more weeks!

I know. We just sent off everything electronically. Not through their mail room.
You think they have created a new line on their system? It is not a zero possibility, I guess.

Yes, they are.

Back from the research.

It could have been made some changes on passport instructions for visa exempt applicants. The modified version could have been distributed since middle of Feb, 2013.

Old version (sorry if this is still active for circulation.)
"You are a citizen of a country that is exempted from obtaining a visa to visit Canada under Regulation 190 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.You are therefore required to send only a copy or scanned image of the photo page of your passport and of any pages indicating a validity extension or change to your personal information. You must submit these copies/scans for yourself and for all your accompanying family member(s)."

As you can see, it is clearly showing what they need. No one will ever make a mistake with this instruction.

On the other hand, in the current version (which I got) it says,

"You are exempted from obtaining a visa to visit Canada under Regulation 190 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, therefore you do not need to submit original passports to finalize your application."

That's it. Hmm. I can't see what they are looking for.
As long as it says “original”, we still have to submit copy or scanned?
Does “passports” represent passports for all applicants and/or passports from multiple countries?
If nothing has been changed to the requirements what was the reason for deleting?

Anyway, I am asking CPP-O this matter.
I included officers code in the subject line so hopefully I can hear from them.

I emailed a scan of my passport, then a few days later I followed up with an email asking for any sort of confirmation that they'd either received it, or needed anything else. I didn't hear anything back, so I sent the same sort of email asking for confirmation and they replied to say they'd received my scans and that an officer would be in touch if they needed anything else.

Pretty stock standard answer to be honest, but at least they finally replied!

Border most likely. I'm only a few hours away from the border so it's easier for me to just drive down and flagpole!
