Right of Permanent Residence Fee

I am thinking that I should send the proof of payment for the RPR Fee to Singapore for my dad's application.
I read in the forums that this will somewhow make the process quicker since CIC don't have to send a payment request when they're ready to issue the visa.

But the PR application also states this in a box, Page 26, IMM5196E
"Do not send cash, personal cheques, bank drafts or money orders unless instructed otherwise."

However it also says that if you've completed your payment online, you should attach this to your completed application...

Any thoughts?

Thanks

You cannot send payment directly to the embassy processing the application. The payment needs to be processed through the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, ON and then they notify the embassy. In addition, you need to either pay the fee at a Canadian financial institution using one of the official CIC receipts, or pay online. The receipt that you get back from bank, or that you print after your online payment, is what you send to CPC-M to prove you've made payment. You don't send them money or a cheque. It's the same as when you paid the initial fees.

Thanks for the reply.
So even tho the visa office processing is Singapore, you only send the proof to Mississauga?

Great

1) Pay the PPR fees for Mississauga office
2) Print the receipt and send it to the Mississauga office, you can also add covering letter in which you can write down your details (sponsor details)
3) send the copy of the fees send to Singapore office with same details etc.

It takes up to 2 weeks to come this fees in the system of Singapore when you paid it at Mississauga. After 2-3 weeks you can confirm your fees for the outland processing office.

Best of luck

Send the receipt and a letter informing your Visa office (Singapore) that you have paid the fee and have sent the receipt to Mississauga. This just lets them know CIC M is processing it and they will add it to your file. Include your client ID, File No, name/address of sponsor and principal applicant.

By the way I just paid mine (and sent info to my visa office) and it was processed by CIC Mississauga in 8 days...even though they say it can take up to 30 or 40 :)
