Hi guys,

I got an offer from Royal Roads University for Master Global management. I am not sure about the credibility of this course. However the 6 months internship which is inclusive of the program is attractive. Considering that most employers ask for Canadian work experience, I think by doing this course the prospect of getting job can increase. Of course this is just my thought process. Anyone who has done this course, please share your thoughts. Additionally my consultant said that 18 months course in British Columbia is considered equivalent to 2 years program which can lead to 3 year pg work permit. I have done some research but haven't found such information on cic. If this is not true, then can doing a additional 6 months course help me in getting 3 years work permit? Please share your views.

Thanks

Hi,
What does your offer letter state? It has to state the work permit that will be granted after the completion of the course.

Hi,
As per CIC, Two years of study – At least 16 months—or four semesters—within the 24 months before completing a full-time post-secondary program of study in Canada.
--check at the end.

So, even though one cannot be sure about the 2 semesters/ 8 months courses (without extra months of co-op,as to they will get 1 full year post grad work permit or not), but this 18 months course will definitely, give one a 3 years post graduate work permit.

Rgds,

It makes no difference what the offer letter from the university says. The university is not the organization that ultimately decides the length of the PGWP. CIC decides this.

What I could find is this
