Menace, I'm curious - what is Rome's process to for scheduling an interview? Did they just give you a date? Or could you choose a date? How much notice?

If you have 30 days before the interview, lots of people also suggest ordering the GCMS notes to give you an idea of what they think about your application. It seems like the notes almost always take 30 days to arrive but it is only $5 so I would try and order them even if you have a bit less than 25 days before the interview.

Some people also say to bring additional proof of your relationship. Since you submitted your application - have you gone on any trips together, made a large purchase together, etc Basically try and show since you submitted your application that your relationship is still ongoing etc.

they gave me 26 days ,then ask if of any visits from my wife when we submitted the app.About the Gcms notes I dont think we can get it .the time is near and they ask of police clearance certificate from my country of birth thats africa

Ya, 26 days probably isnt enough time for notes.

Do you have an idea of why they asked for an interview? Are there any "red flags"? Try to identify these issues and be prepared to address them in the interview. I have read other on this forum that the visa officer has brought up age differences etc. in the interview.

We only a year difference in age,I fink they ask for my wife to describe the relationship btw her and the father of her child .She had a son in her teen, nothing more thou.we are married for 4 yrs now .been living apart but she visits once a yr..and I had 2 sons in other relationship.but we never married b4 ..it was just relationships u know youth .

Hmmmm very strange that you would be called for an interview. I guess it must be the fact that there are children involved?!! I ordered my notes in case we get an interview. At least then I will know what they are thinking about the relationship...

Hmmmm....it is hard to tell what the visa office is thinking...
4 years of being married is a long time for a MOC, but also, why would you wait so long to be with your wife - especially if you only see her once a year when she visits? I don't know if the 4 years is a good thing or what they are thinking about it...

I guess a few children would complicate everything a bit more.

@ Belle - you ordered them already? If not, I should be getting my notes in 20 days or less. I can let you know how much (if anything) is on our notes when we get them, and if you should maybe wait or order them soon.

CLS - i ordered them a few days ago. I used the signed Use of a Rep form as consent. Not sure if that will work. Would love to know what's in your notes. I really want them to see what the odds are we will get an interview ... So stressful! I'm losing my mind these days :(

I ordered my notes as well, just yesterday, but it's gonna take 5 or 6 weeks to get them!
As canadian belle said I would like to know what they are thinking about our relationship.
I might have an interview because we have a big age difference and I want to be prepared

Good plan CLS. I'm getting very anxious. I really feel that I will see a change this Month. So every time I check eCAS I hold my breath hoping and praying. I can't get my husband to sign so I won't bother with the notes. I am keeping the faith.

If you end up needing your husband's signature it should only cost him about 5 dollars to print it and mail it to youom anywhere in Albania for about 2 weeks. But hopefully they accept your use of a representative form, that would be much easier!

Ya I'm hoping it will work because it's so much faster. Fingers crossed!

About half way there before I will get the notes. I will let you know how much is in there. I'm also starting to get a bit stressed. Lately I've been worrying what if CIC decided to send our application to Vienna (because we live in Berlin, although he is an Italian citizen but we are moving to Italy in September for a few months). Ughhh - I don't even want to think about what a disaster it would be if his file ended up in Vienna...

That's impossible! When they transferred your file if it said Rome you're in Rome. I understand the paranoia though. I'm anxious to see some movement. It's SO stressful knowing they processed December applicants in May and June and nothing for us yet :(

Belle - ah, you are right! I completely forgot that it said on the SA where they transferred it. I just ran and found it in my files to double check. We are for sure in Rome. I'm starting to stress because we should be seeing something happen this month...I mean some people got CORP in less than we have been waiting!

I know. I think I've lost faith in Rome. I was going to wait to book my next trip until I could take my hubby home with me but given the silence, I think I will go this month and then go back again when it's all done. ???

How come you are going to go there and pick him up? Well at least with some extra trips you can start bringing some of his clothes and personal items back with you. We got some cheap one way flights with Icelandair, so we have 2 free 23 kg checked bags. :) But no free meals on the plane....
