Hi all,
Due to a situation back home, I applied for PR card renewal in Dec 2019 and I was just 1 year done at that time. My application was approved in August 2020. Based on the CIC agent's response, my application went through non-routine processing and although the card was printed, it is stuck in NS office as they'd be sending the card to my local Calgary office for in-person interview. Due to Covid, this process of scheduling interviews is put on hold indefinitely. Now that I have met my RO of 2 years, would it be ok to re-submit another application for PR card renewal? The idea is to get the PR card processed through normal processing. Please share your thoughts.

The reason for this query is that I got a job in the US and may have to visit in June. So, if its possible to get the PR card processing done before that, it would be helpful to cross borders to visit family.

Thanks!

I don't believe a second application will be processed since you already have the first one in progress. I think you need to wait for the non-routine processing to play out and it's too late to withdraw the first application.

I'm sure others will comment.

Good luck.

Hi Rasha - I am a Canadian resident. I work in a consulting firm and as part of that, I will have to travel to the US for projects. I should have been a bit clear on that aspect.
