In reading over the sponsorship guide we noticed that it says if we don't pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee with the other fees it "will result in a minimum additional two-month delay in the finalization of the application."

My question is would this only apply if we wait until the end of the process when it's actually due or could we pay it along the way and not have it cause a delay?

The delay will occur if you do not submit the fee when you apply for sponsorship/PR.

You can pay it along the way and the Visa office needs 8 weeks to update their record and send you a confimation. This really delays the process.
Pay it now and avoid the delay.

Hi all,

I also need to send payment for PR fee and have been searching the cic.gc.ca site for information.

I found that the website says the following (Effective May 1, 2010):

The Right of Permanent Residence Fee may be paid at the tie of application or at any time during processing.
The Right of Permanent Residence Fee must be paid before the Visa is issued.

I did not pay my PR fee at the time I sent the application (Sponsorship/PR) and I've not seen any delay....yet.

My question, though, as a family class applicant...Do I send fees to Mississauga even though my application is processing in Buffalo?

I found the following in the same section as the above statements:

Please note: All fees for Family Class applicants must be submitted to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, Ontario using an official fee receipt (IMM5401).

I'm assuming "all fees" means "all fees".......or rather, I hope!

Anyone else have any experience with sending the family class PR fee during processing?

Thanks in advance!

My understanding is you pay with the sponsor client ID to Mississagua , and also send a copy to your VO visa office, that what i seen most people do

Thank you, Asurania! That's what I was going to do, but I just needed someone else's opinion/experience. ;)
