Hi all,

i have sent off an request for information on my criminality - common assault 100 hours community service 6 years ago to see if i can be granted an visa or not and they have said as i have "Please note that you are inadmissible to enter Canada because you are a person described in A36 (2)(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act."

i know its not an end all and be all for my application but does the rehabilitation of offenders act in the UK not have an effect on Visa decisions for Canada?

i am going to apply for the rehabilitation and the $200 but after that i still need to apply for a visa correct? or an ETA?

my flights leave in two months so i assume its a very very slim chance of getting an appropriate visa for this 5 day trip? :'(

The rehab application needs to be approved in order for an ETA or TRV to be approved. Given you only have two months - yes, unfortunately the chances are probably slim.
