this is a long process right? i have applied "for information" only, and if that takes a month or two there will not be any leeway to get another ETA or visa in time.. should i just book another holiday and lose the money i paid for flights pretty much?

i was in a similar position, i had to contact them through this part of the CIC website: cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp they then come back to me after 3-4 days advising i was not eligible for a ETA due a criminal record... so would defo contact them asap.
