Hi everyone.

Hoping to get some feedback on my application. I ordered my notes, as it has been about 10 months since I have applied.

Here's a brief on my case: I have had 3 jobs spanning 2011-2014 with over 12 months of work experience.

MY NOC codes were : 2282, 6221 and 2282.

Here' what my notes say:

Work Experience 1(2282):10/5/11 - 16/9/11: There appears to be insufficient evidence to confirm work experience in stated NOC. Additional notes : Duties listed in employment letter do not fully match NOC code description and lead statement. It also appears that PA did not perform a substantial number of main duties under NOC code declared.

Work Experience 2(6221): 02/1/13- 28/6/13: There appears to be insufficient evidence to confirm work experience in stated NOC. There is no evidence on file that suggest the PA met any of the actions in the lead statement or any of the main duties under the NOC code selected. Additional notes: It seems that the PA did not perform a substantial number of main duties under the NOC code declared.

Work Experience 3(2282): 04/11/13 - lock in period: There appears to be insufficient evidence to confirm work experience in stated NOC. Additional notes : Duties listed in employment letter do not fully match NOC code description.

Recommendation : REVIEW REQUIRED BY OFFICER. Work experience does NOT appear to meet requirements.

*Provided online and over the phone support to clients using ABC's solutions for IP Telephony
*Provided training to clients using ABC's solution for IP Telephony
*Gathered requirements and communicated directly with clients to help program and deliver a comprehensive package for IP Telephony
*Created literature documenting client issues and worked towards resolution of these issues.

2) Job Title -> Direct Sales representative. I have corresponded this to job NOC code 6221

Roles and duties:

• Executed full sales cycle from prospecting, to hardware delivery/set-up, post sales service and account management.
• Worked hand in hand with ABC representatives to determine client's overall telecom requirements and deliver a comprehensive viable solution(i.e. landline, internet and mobility).
• Efficiently supported existing ABC mobility business clients by providing quick responses to various technical issues(hardware/software related).

3) Job Title -> Customer Advisor. I have corresponded this job to NOC code 2282

1) Solely responsible for providing end users with technical support(related to email/domain issues) over the phone and via email.
2) Detail interactions with every customer via service requests that are maintained in Zendesk(request tracking software) as to create a database of existing problems and solutions.
3) Keep up to date with technology related to internet services , i.e- hosted email and DNS management as to provide customers with the most effective and informative solutions.

Please let me know if I have classified my work experience correctly with the job NOC codes that I have chosen. Any feedback/suggestions are appreciated.

I included my the response of the NOC CNP with my application, so I find it hard to understand why the officer feels that all 3 of my letters and duties stated do not meet the requirements of the code selected.

MY question here is : 1) What next? Do I get in touch with my previous employers and ask that they tweak the letters?
2) If so, do i then email the new updated letters or do I have to physically mail them out
3) How much time do I have to correct this? I got my AOR March 14th 2014.
4) What happens during a review, is there any chance of my current application being approved?

Any help is appreciated as I would like to get this corrected and sorted out as soon as possible.

I have looked up your NOCs and your work experiences - I fail to see how they can say that your duties do not fall into these NOCs. They are not word for word but anyone reading it can see that they are the same but stated using different words.

Keep us posted - it might pay to get an immigration lawyer send them a letter.

I know right!

That's what is so confusing. That not even 1 out've 3 was credited to me. I'm a bit confused here, but hopefully someone on here can provide some clarity on this issue.

I'll def keep you posted as things progress.

First thing, its not always rigth that the NOC code privide by NOC-CNP would be areed to the visa officer. Some time like your case visa officer is not satisfied. Its all depend on visa officer at the end.
The only thing you can do is to make new updated employee ment letter from all of ur employer, and make sure to match your main duites not the generic one and lead statment.

Fair enough. Though my descriptions were far from generic and I made sure they weren't copies of the NOC descriptions. What I may do is add some more descriptions per job and update them altogether.

Does anyone know if this can be emailed? Or would I have to just mail them out?

Thanks for sharing this. Can you advise what you have done since? What course of action do you recommend I take? Also, have you had any updates?

I hope both these situations are resolvable.

First line review, I believe, appears to be like someone just following a checklist. Since (for example) your job descriptions for the NOCs 2282 did not include the word "computer" it may not have met the "obvious" test. So it's being reviewed by someone who has better knowledge and decision-making latitude.

Personally, I think you will be OK. Sometimes sending a different job description (or in this case, 3) can make matters worse. If you do send new descriptions - keep in mind you have to write these for the non-specialist, keep jargon and acronyms to a minimum, explain like you're explaining to someone who has no knowledge of your industry (because that's probably true).

Keep in mind that ESDC uses NOCs in a different way from CIC, and their opinion is not binding on CIC. But it doesn't hurt to include their correspondence.

This is essentially how I feel as well. I assume that once this is passed on to somebody with a bit more know how, it should be cleared. That being said, I did update my letter for my second work experience ,i.e.- 6221 just to give a more comprehensive understanding of my work experience. I added a few more duties and kept things simple. From the notes it felt that they were least satisfied with this particular item. Fortunately, my ex- employer was able to make the changes and I've emailed CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca with the update. Does anyone know if I should also send this via registered mail?

These were the exact job descriptions (I dug up my old letters just to double check).

Do they look okay :

1) Inside technician (corresponded to 2282) :
- Online and over the phone support to clients using ABC companies solutions for IP telephony
- Training for clients using ABC companies solution for IP Telephony
- Gathered requirements and communicated directly with clients to help program and deliver a comprehensive package for IP telephony
- Documented client issues and work towards resolutions of these issues

2) Direct sales representative (corresponded to 6221)

- To generate sales of wireless communications products and related accessories
- Acquire accounts through prospecting and cold calling
- Create custom proposals for customers as to provide them with pricing and product information
- Work with ABC company representatives to determince client's overall telecom requirements and deliver a comprehensive solution for their wireline and wireless needs
- Finalize sales with clients by administering contracts and ensuring transactions are accounted for.
- Meet onsite with customer's staff to provide end user training so as to help improve overall end user experience.
- Support existing ABC customer base by providing support/responses to various technical issues(hardware/software related)

3) Customer advisor (2882)

- provided technical support /customer service related to our email and domain name services , over the phone and email
- engaged in detailed interactions with customers via service requests that are maintained using a ticketing system, so as to keep track of these requests
- kept up to date with technology related to internet services(such as hosted email/ DNS management) so that effective solutions can be provided to our end users/customers.


I get that there may be some aspects of the above descriptions which may be unclear, via use of acronyms and such. My question now, is do I need to update these letters further? Or should I just wait for the review and see what happens from then on. In my opinion, I feel that the descriptions are a fair representation of the duties outlined in the NOC classification for these roles ; however I fear that someone else (aka the officer looking at my file) may see things differently.

Does anyone have any opinions or advice here?
