I wanted to know how immigrant-friendly is New Brunswick as a province? What are the job opportunities that one can get in fields of IT, Finance?? And cost of living as compared to other provinces.

How much time does it take to get a PNP roughly? Also, incase New Brunswick offers a Provincial Nomination to an applicant, does it make it mandatory for them to stay at New Brunswick?

There is a slight confusion .. there is nothing mentioned between criteria 2and 3

So if one fulfills criteria 3 only and not the other 2, will it still be accepted ?

Also, 34 months of work experience will be considered as 2 years or 3?

depends if they choose to send you an invitation to apply.

34months is less than 3yrs... so they will only give 3yrs... black and white.. no approximates here..

In that case, apart from the 34 month job I had, can I include internships of a couple of months? Total should be greater than 36 right ? So would this work??

as long as the job has letters which indicates the job description/salary/number of hrs/ letterhead.. it should say you worked full -time... full time to them means 40hrs a week or more.. im not sure if your internship is defined that way

Nope. It doesn't :/

Do all provinces have such strict criterias? Are you aware of any other provinces that have a relaxed criteria in terms of number of years worked? I am about to get my Masters. So education wise I am sorted. But I'm not sure how do I add up on points elsewhere ! :/

This is a federal requirement.. so all provinces follow the same definition for work experience

I have not been there myself, but have spoken to guys who worked there as had an intention to move there myself.

Jobs are very limited. People are friendly.

As with out PNPs there is a requirement to stay there for 2/3 years. However, this is not really enforced :)

So for someone with my profile as stated below.. how do you think are the chances ?

Will be giving my IELTS in July first week and shall apply immediately after that. Along with EE, I want to apply for a PNP. What do you'll suggest ?

Have your highest credential assessed by an ECA like wes.org so that you know how many points u can claim for education. Ur profile is good...
What is your NOC?

Skill Type/ Level: A
NOC: 2171/2173

When I was working, my designation was Software Engineering Analyst. And my roles and responsibilities fall under both the categories

However I saw something on the site just now. This is written for NOC 2173

Employment requirements

A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or mathematics
--- I have done my engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication, so will it be a problem??
or
Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.
A master's or doctoral degree in a related discipline may be required.
Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practise as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
Engineers are eligible for registration following graduation from an accredited educational program, three or four years of supervised work experience in engineering, and passing a professional practice examination.
Experience as a computer programmer is usually required.

Its fine

What matters more is your job duties that would match their criteria

Hi,

I dropped them an email and asked them about applying under Open category only. The email said that 34 months would be considered as 2 years but then it also said that I should send an EOI if the profession is mentioned under Open Category.

I am confused now. If I manage to score decent on IELTS, I shall fulfil the >67 criteria. But work ex is <3 years

So should I apply for the PNP or no?

The more important thing to ask yourself isome if you have enough points in express entry. If you score say 470 or better...you can apply without PNP.

If you score below 450 then you have no choice but to apply for PNP to be even considered for visa application :)
