Go through priceline dot com for super 8 motel...you will get many reviews and also can get a better deal.
Peace

Calgirl, I have used Jet airways for Honkgong flights and these guys are really good. I do nit find jet services really good in domestic flights.

Lufthansa, I have used them for Europe and US travel and would prefer not to fly them often. If price permits I would take BA instead

Lufthansa is just ok as far as food in concerned. The TV program options are limited and also services are not really too polite. I was travelling once with high fever from Germany and normal request like warm water etc were not met promptly. So I do not rate them bad but they are not my first three choice. But in my case price point has major influence on decision.

I am a vegetarian and prefer Indian meals on flight

Try British airways as well...their service is good and the fare is competitive as well.

Even I like BA. But they don't have any direct flight from Kolkata. We have to catch it either from Delhi or from Bombay. We will be travelling with two kids, four hand bags, one stroller and seven check-in luggage so arriving in the a domestic terminal and then travelling to the international terminal to get into the flight is something we would like to avoid. Our options are Emirates, Lufthansa and Jet Airways (even for this one we will need to travel from Domestic to international, however this time without the check-in luggage). Prices of Luft and Emirates are more or less same. Jet is cheaper. We have to wait in Dubai airport for nine hours in case of emirates. Never been to Dubai before.

Jet Airwars is really nice. Top class among airlines right now. I used Jet couple of times to travel from Mumbai-Orlando and my sister uses it always to fly Toronto-Mumbai. We love it!

Well, Kolkata domestic airport can check in your luggage for an international transfer from mumbai or delhi,u dont even need to identify the luggage...we always do this while travelling to abu dhabi from kolkata via mumbai. BA is not so expensive and also the service is good..Luft and emirates are a bit expensive as compared to BA...but u need to consider the transit time as well, as you are travelling with 2 kids. Jet may be cheap but not so comfortable as BA.

In my experience Jet was better than BA. Plus if you are travelling the first time, you are better off being served with Indian food than the western food that is served on European airlines. The crew from Jet are also very friendly and make you feel so much at home. But finally the choice of airline is your call to make depending on the fare deal you get and other convenience factors.

Hi Calgirl,

I think we have only emirates from kolkata to toronto. I have gone on their flight and its good. The leg from kol to dubai is bad in terms of seat space. From dubai to toronto its a new flight and its excellent.

In terms of accomodation i would suggest go for home stay which will more economical and meanwhile you can search for a permanent place.

When are you planning to land.

Regards
Bala

You are right. We have purchased tickets for Emirates for 6th May. Will land in Toronto on 7th May. Purchased early to ensure baby bassinet and still one but all bassinet seats were already booked from Kolkata to Dubai. We are lucky to get the last available one.
Also we have got a good deal. Two adults one child and one infant cost RS. 1,08,466. It includes one night stay in Dubai airport hotel in a double bedroom.

Hi,

Emirates is a good flight. It is an Air Bus 380-800, which leaves around 10.00 am from DXB and land before 4 PM at Toronto. You have enough time for landing formalities. Being the month of May the weather here in Toronto will be pleasant and beautiful. More over the sunset will be late after 8.30 pm, which is better for a new arriving family.

Thank you. Can you please suggest what kind of clothes we should carry for Toronto. We have two kids, son is 6 years old and daughter 1 year.
