Hi all! Just wanted to pose a question of the chances of my study visa. Is there a higher chance of being granted a study visa if I've been asked for medical and then police clearance? I have applied for a study permit along with a co-op work permit in the Philippines. Processing time when I applied is 6 weeks, currently it is now only 5 weeks.

My timeline is as follows:

Applied online: May 4
Medical request: May 7
Medical done and submitted: May 8
Medical updated to PASSED: May 11
Police clearance requested: May 15
Review of Eligibility changed to "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.": May 16

I would like to think that my application is being updated quite quickly as I have read that others take awhile to even be asked for a medical or police clearance so I was wondering if this was a good sign. Logically I'm thinking it's a good sign because they are requesting more documentation (why would they request more only to refuse my application?) but I could just be wrong and that other people may have gotten refused after all these.

Any advice, comments, words of encouragements or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and good luck to everyone else who are in the same boat as I am!

They should request medical since you’re from the Philippines. That’s what I know. When did you apply? What’s your timeline?
