Hey guys, I traveled back home for the winter break for a few weeks and now heading back to Toronto this Friday.

I had a few questions as a returning student:
  1. Do I have to go through Immigration again like I did the first time I came as a new student?
  2. Is the entry process faster than the first time?
  3. What do I need to get besides my study permit and passport?
  4. Is there anything else to look out for?
I'm probably just being a little too anxious but wanna stay on the safe side. Would appreciate any feedback :)

You will go through boarder control like all other passengers. On safe side, have your student ID just incase and read new covid protocols before your travel

1. You always go through immigration if you are coming from outside Canada. Even citizens go through immigration.
2. No. But may ask you where you are living, funds etc. (They can ask you anything)
3. Download the Arrive Can app - Vaccination, covid test, quarantine plan.

Will do. Is the entry process faster than when you first arrive as a new student?

Yes you just go through normal customs like all other returning passengers. Due to covid there can be a lot of delays at the airport after landing.

Hello Ali, how was your experience. I am in a similar situation and wanted to know what documents I should keep with myself other than my study permit and visa.
Thankyou.
