I have been away from my job on maternity leave for the past eight months (and outside of Canada, if that is relevant). It's time for me to go back to work, but I am concerned about my work permit still being valid, as I was a little wishy-washy about when and if I'd come back full-time. It doesn't expire for two more years, but I am signing a new employment contract. Same job, same employer, same office. Everything's the same, I just have some different terms under which I am working (time off, etc.). Does this matter at all?
And in general, would a work permit be valid if someone would leave and be rehired for the same job? Thanks for any insight anyone might have.
