you should fill it out and it needs to be notarized too. But it does say you need to fill it out only if you have a co-signer. We didn't have a co-signer and we filled it out and had it notarized. There are some people on this forum that were requested to fill it out later by their visa office, so it's better to have it already done, just in case they ask for it. I'm not sure if they ask it from everyone, as it seems that nothing is logical in this process. But it certainly doesn't hurt to do it. Just takes a small amount of time and maybe a small amount of money (for the notarization) to do it.

Good luck!
thanks for the advice, in a spot of bother now id say.....hmmm....wont be able to get it notorized till thursday the earliest(even if i can get someone to do it then)

thanks

For everyones benefit, can you confirm what type of application you are filing (inland or outland) and what specific forms you are using?

Hi IN

Yes, those forms are correct for Outland spousal/common law immigration. The only one I see that you don't have is the Use of a Representative. I had read on this forum somewhere that you should include everything even if it does not apply. So you could include that form and write NOT APPLICABLE at the top. Some may have got through without doing that but just to be on the safe side, we added it in. Just need your receipt for the fees and medical form you get from the doctor and you are good to go.

Good luck with your application.

Do you have other proof of your relationship too? Such as shared utility bills, shared bank accounts, named as beneficiaries in wills, both names on leases or mortgages? Anything like that will strengthen your case.

i know ya, i hope it doesnt come back again!....i was hoping to go in may, lol...cant see that happpending now :(
we were in a tight situation as the gf only got her jot offer the week i sent off the application the first time but i knew i was going for over a year now pending that.

would a job offer speed things up?
was there for 3 months last summer and got interviews etc, if i contacted one of the prespective future employers for a job offer, would that help?

I am not sure if it would speed the process up but I tend to think that it wouldn't help much in the sponsorship class. London particularly likes to drag their heels...certainly are with us. Yet with others, they have got through really quickly. Pushing it for May though.

i know may(end of) isint going to happen, but we will be going anyway for 4weeks, gf starts work, and i help get her set up, apt, furniture, car, get confirmed job offer if not already have one etc....then we come back for a week in june. following that i may stay at home and wait out the process, or go back over for a few weeks....not sure yet. ill prob know more about it closer to the dates, status of the process and hopefully be able to guage from then an indicative time line.

best of luck with you process also, i see you have been waiting over 4months, finger crossed for ya!

Thank you, we need all the luck we can get! We are delayed because my partner has a common name and CIC think he immigrated to Canada in 1982, which he didn't. They told him on the phone that they want him to get his fingerprints done and that they would send a letter. That was over three weeks ago and we have yet to receive this letter. They won't answer my email so we are a bit stuffed at the moment. No idea if they did send a letter/email and it got lost? Or they are working on an RCMP check without the fingerprints and will ask for them later. All we can do is sit and wait for who knows how long. Hopefully yours will go much smoother than ours is!

I would also suggest adding any joint bills you may have (cell phone, electricity ect). If you don't have any joint bills send bills sent to you guys separately showing the sane address. Also I know she's leaving in May to come back to Canada, have you included sufficient proof of this? Her job offer, letters from family ect?
