Return Passport

Has anyone ever been asked to return their passport after they've gotten their study permit foil?
Back Story:
I received the Passport request letter on March 28th
submitted my passport to VFS Global office the 29th
received my passport April 4th with Study permit foil

A week ago I received an email stating they have never gotten my passport, I responded to the email stating that I have already gotten the passport back with the study permit and a picture of it. They then stated there was an error and I should resubmit my passport.

Should I be worried about this because I have already aid school fee? Starting school FAll 2019

You should be worried if you do not return the passport as they requested, as they may invalidate your permit.

Thanks for your suggestion, I am currently travelling and will return home soon to return the passport. However, has there been a case where the study permit will be cancelled?

If they issued you an incorrect foil, yes.

HELLO everyone, I have a Canadian visitor visa, I went there and applied at a school and got accepted and went back home to Dominican Republic to apply for the student permit because it’s better when you do it back home. So I applied online on April 11th and it say from my country it take 4 weeks. I got an update today May 10th requesting my medical test. I just would like to know if after they request the medical test mean that is approve or not? I’m just happy and still super worry.? I will go do the medical test today.!
