Retaking Express Entry as a PR already

Dear CanadaVisa Forums,

I became a PR a few years ago, but had to return to my country. Even if I return now, I will not complete the necessary period (2 in 5 years) to keep my PR.

So, could I re-apply to Express Entry, even if I am already a PR, so that I could renew my permit?

You can't, you are still a PR. If your card is valid you can still land in canada.

Could I renounce my PR, and try again? Because even if I return now, I would be required to leave in the end of the 5-year period, correct?

I think there are ways to keep the PR status, like filing an appeal. But yes you can renounce and refile.
