Hello,

Can anyone guide me about the restrictions/bindings on international students other than work in Canada.
I mean,
Are they allowed to move freely within Canada?
Do they have to renew their study permit after a specific duration?
Is Canadian immigration concerned about the university you are studying in? I mean what if someone drops a semester due to certain reasons and then gets enrolled in some other university for some other course?

Received admission confirmation from different universities and I am unable to decide. Just wondering if I would be able to change my university later on or drop a semester.

yes, the very first rule which Canadian Govt has introduced just last week. Its very important rule.
It say that your visa will be terminated if you fall in love with a Canadian Woman.

lol, sorry I am joking.

1. Yes, you can move freely anywhere in Canada.

2. Yes, in case you are unable to complete your studies within a stated time on your visa, you can apply for "Extentded visa" at "Case Processing Centre, Vegreville, Alberta. But, there are NO explicit guidelines to show on what basis the visa would be extended. So, NO trick/smartwork.

3. Yes, you can easily switch from University-to-University and you don't even need to notify anyone. BUT, if you switch from University-to-School (Lower to higher/Higher to lower level), thn you MUST apply for changes in your visa at Case Processing Centre, Vegreville, Alberta. Again, no idea on what basis the permission is granted !
