Hi All,
I am just trying to get some information for a friend.
He's an international student that completed his program in june 2016. His study permit expired on July 01, 2016, and he was planning to apply for post graduate work permit PGWP. His school did not provide the documents he needed to apply for the PGWP until July 4, 2016.
He submitted his application for PGWP, but decided to call CIC to ask if he could continue working now that his study permit was expired, and they said that he needed to stop working and apply for restoration of status.
The application of restoration of status seems to be like you are applying again for study permit, because it asks for admission letter, financial support etc, but hes no longer in school.
Has anyone had any experience similar to this?
