Restoration of status Second Time (extending study permit)

So I was approved for my restoration of status (study permit) last year and my study permit will be expiring at the end of the month. However I just got back to canada and went to my university to get status letter and certificate of enrollment. They normally require a week to get it done but ive talked to them about my situation. The advisor informed me that they dont normally rush the letters but they will try their best to give it to me by friday.

If they are not able to give those letters by friday I will have to apply to restore my status. My question is, since i have already applied once to restore my status, would this affect me by any chance? I was thinking of just submitting my application if things are not going my way and then I will add those 2 documents when i have gotten them which is by august 2nd.

Please advise me on what will be the better option.

Is is possible for you to print a registration confirmation from your school's student system? At my university, I can print out a study permit letter that verifies enrollment and I have used that once before to extend my study permit. I know that CIC only requires a letter of registration/enrollment for returning students. The letter should include how long you have been studying at that institution, and if applicable, your expected graduation date.

There shouldn't be any issues applying to restore your status a second time. However the bigger problem is that restoration applications seem to be taking around 4 months these days and you cannot study while you are waiting for the results of your restoration application. You should do everything you can to apply to extend your study permit before it expires.

too bad my university does not have such features. we need to pay to get the letter. How much funds do i need as proof of financial support during my stay. i know 2 years ago u only needed to show 3000cad in your bank account. I have more than that and i have gotten a letter from my bank to show my balance etc. Is this enough or should I use additional bank statement from parents to proof my funds. Thank you.

I think you should show both just to be on the safe side. I showed my Canadian bank statements as well as proof of funds from other sources/scholarships to ensure funding is not an issue. My extension application was just approved yesterday. I think it just depends on the situation. Hope this helps. Good luck.
