Hi Friends,

I have a very unusual situation. I came as PG student in Canada studied and applied for my PGWP which was for 1 year. I was misled by some guy that I could apply for open work permit without LMO it got refused. I had 90 days to restore my status. I applied for a course at seneca. for January admission got offer letter immediately I applied for the study permit on Dec 25th. The course has started now and when I contacted CIC today they told me my file has been transferred to a special team which I think is the restoration team and the current delay is 16 weeks. What should I do? Is there a chance of refusal of the study permit since 16 weeks is May and The course will be half done.
Pls. help me guys if someone had the same situation.

Yes - there's certainly a chance of refusal. It would have been better to have restored your status to visitor. Applying for a study permit on December 25th for a course that starts in January was far too late. But there's nothing you can do about that now. You'll just have to wait for the restoration application to be processed and hope for the best.

Thanks for the reply but what should i have done because getting refusal as a visitor was 80% everyone told that study permit has less chance of refusal can i withdraw my application and no one including cic didn't tell me that restoration time will be more than normal time

The cut-off for submitting study permit applications for the January intake was the first week of December. So even without the restoration - you applied far too late and there was no chance the study permit was going to be approved. I don't know what you should do - other than speak with a good immigration lawyer.
