Pre-Assessed..
Hey Guys,

While I was seeking guidance on this topic, I came across a lot of conflicting info on this forum and elsewhere. For this reason I want to use my recent application to clarify some points.

I had been refused a visitor status extension, and also given a "voluntary departure confirmation" form (blue paper) and asked to leave Canada within 2 weeks (gave a date). My status expired in December, and I got the refusal in February. I was unsure if this was a removal order.

I checked with a number of lawyers who said it was pointless to reapply etc.

But I followed my heart and applied for restoration (90 days had passed since my permit expired but less than 90 days since my refusal).

Today, I saw that it was approved.

So, it confirms that the date which determines restoration eligibility, is not the expiry date but the date of refusal. As long as you were under implied status until refusal.

Secondly, the blue departure confirmation form is not a "removal order" and does not prevent you from reapplying, as long as you are otherwise eligible.

Just thought I would inform for future situations.

Cheers.
