Resources for how to manage foreign income as a TRV while in Canada?

Hi Gang,

Family class outland sponsorship in process. I work for an Australian company that pays me in US Dollars as a location-independent employee. We are planning to move my wife and kids up in early June 2021 and I would be coming up on a TRV. Ideally, I would like to just stay on my TRV while my Outland application is in process, but I do not know the implications of being paid in another country's currency and using those funds to pay for our housing in Canada and other banking needs. Has anyone found any good resources for location independent workers and how to manage salary, taxes, etc?

I'm happy to do the digging but didn't want to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already gone through this.

The Australian company does have customers in Canada, but not many.

If that is the case you can't work from Canada while on your TRV.
