Residency - Police Certificate again?

March 2014 - Canadian PR

Before Canadian PR, I lived solely in the US. If I total up time from the last 4 years (going back to October 2013, pre-PR) it has been well over +183 days.

I am confused by the wording, for the citizenship application do I need to obtain and submit an additional new FBI certificate, or does the one from 2013 suffice? I have one original of the 2013 police check in my files, but it doesn't explicitly state how recent the police certificate must be.

Yes, I have been on vacations and live near the border so I have been to the US since. I meet date requirements to apply for citizenship with bill c-6.

In your case I think you would need a new one, because the old one doesn’t cover your days in the US after 2013

If you spent the 183 days or most od them after submitting the fbi certificate i think for sure you need a new one.

If I total up the dates from the time of permanent residency to now, it's less then 183 days in the US. With this "4 year" timing, it's counting time prior to PR so it exceeds the 183. I can definitely get another one, it's more of a bother having to wait for it though.

jojen143 it depends whether you need to submit Police Clearance certificate because your eligibility period is 11/10/2017 to 12/10/2013 so from 12/10/2013 to 1/2/2014 you where in your home country approximately 110 day and on 2/2/2014 you arrived in Canada and since then if you din't left Canada then you do not need a Police Certificate and if you visited your home country for more than 73 days during this period then you need it.

Because you need PCC only if you are outside Canada for more than 183 in last 4 years i.e., from 12/10/2013 to 11/10/2017 so that is eligibility period for PCC and for citizenship eligibility 5 yrs i.e., from 12/10/2012 to 11/10/2017 is it clear jojen143
