Hi. I and my five children became permanent resident on august 18, 2005, stayed for a year and 3 weeks and left for pakistan while my daughter,17 stayed for 7 months only and left for pakistan to see her grandmother who had her abdominal surgery. My son 18, completed grade 12, daughter,15 did grade 10, daughter,9 passed grade 4 and the youngest, 7 passed grade 2 from canada.
I went to pakistan to see my husband's mother (my husband died in 2001 when my immigration was i process). I reached pakistan on aug,8 2006 while my mother in law became paralyzed after a month and I had to stay in pakistan. I aditted my children and starting living there. I assumed that I will fulfil my citizenship residency in the next5 year tenure while the honest truth is i did not know about the residency obligation of pr card renewal.
During my stay I resumed my job as professor. did my Bed so that to get teaching job i ontario in the next 5 yrs. started Mphil in education and when my card was to expire on aug,7 2010 I returned to Canada with my children on July,6 2010. On airport we were interviewed. In the beginning the IO was abit strict but when I told him this is my true story he believed and was kind enough. My older daughter who was student, married and could not get her one yr sons' visa went back after applying for Pr card on urgent basis while eldest child my son did so too who was a medical school student in Pakistan. Me and my three daughters applied on normal basis for the renewal. Even at the time of applying I did not know that i could have waited to accumulate 730 days. I applied for the renewal of card in august while after 4 months i came to know from your forum that application can be withdrawn, so i did so but the day I submitted my application i received a letter that ur case is sent to saint clairs office. I called on 1 888..... number after a week and agent told me that ur withdrawal was forwarded to Toronto office too but after ur case was entered in processing. My daughters' PR status have been cancelled 2 months before while sons' application was abondoned for not attending the interview
on Jan 6 2011, last year.
Now me and my three daughters received residency questionnaire a week before from scarbrough office. On the envelope it is also written :
PRD-DOT PROJECT,I donot know for what it stands? I have to send these papers before March,7.
I have the following obligations here in canada:
a). I purchased a condo apartment with my nephew, we both are paying mortgage, although it given on rent.
b). I have bank accounts in TD and BMO, I use my master (credit) card.
c). one daughter will complete her B.A honors in English in this summer. Last year I paid her fees but this year she availing OSAP worth $ 10,000.
d). 2 daughters are going to school i grade 10 and 8(16 yrs and 14 yrs).
e). I my last tenure I am short of half of the residency obligation while for this tenure I will complete 730 days on July 6, 2012.
My questions are:
1. Why is my case transferred to scarbrough office? what is PR_DOT PROJECT, which is written on the envelope too and it is instructed in the letter to mention on your envelope while replying.
2..what are the chances of getting my card renewed?
3. your expert opinion is requested to fill up the forms.........I do not want to lie in any case but am conscious and cautious.
thank you
janay
