Residence Questionnaire

Hi Everyone,

I have received residence questionnaire and need your advise to complete it correctly. Here are few questions:

1- Do I need the assistance of immigration consultant to complete this or I can fill it myself?

2- Need your assistance on answering question 22 on Page 5 ( PROPERTY AND BUSINESSES OUTSIDE CANADA). What does Property Mean here i.e. Land or building only or it means any bank balance/ saving certificates outside Canada. CIC already know abut my investment certificates outside Canada. I have some land which I inherited but it is not divided yet. This is for all brothers and sisters. I have two plots under my name. Shall I disclose those. If yes, what supporting documents I'll need to proof they are under my name. Can someone give me a specimen letter for property disclosure.
FYI I don't have Property inside Canada and I don't have any business inside or outside Canada. I am an employee.

when did you apply for citizenship ? and did you travel a lot in the 4 year period ?

I applied on May 17 2013.

In the past four years I did not travel a lot. Since May 2009 to Up till now I travelled once i.e. from UAE to Canada, and arrived to Canada on April 19, 2010, since then I am Canada and have never travelled outside Canada as of today.

You can scan it and upload it to any website, picture sharing site, etc, and copy the URL. You can even upload to your twitter account, instagram or facebook - and just copy the URL of the JPG file by right clicking and looking for the address. No-one will discover your username.

----> Property here means house/land...should not declare that you own anything outside of canada, even if you inherit.

hi jell 9050 I e-mailed you r q . can you assist me on following questions in r q.

In this questionnaire it states that"

' For the Purpose of this questionnaire" ARRIVAL DATE IN CANADA" means THE EARLIER of:
i) the date on which you come to Canada to live or
ii) the date on which you become a Permanent Resident of Canada'

In my case, I came to Canada for this first time in 2007 and become permanent resident upon my arrival. I stayed for 02 month in 2007 and went back to my native country. I stayed outside Canada for 1088 days and came back in April 2010 and since then I never travelled outside Canada till the date I applied for citizen ship in 2013 and till today. Its being 03 years 256 days that I am in Canada. so my question is what will be my arrival date in Canada for the purpose of residency questionnaire?

Hi Lashari, You have to enter the date you become permanant resident, it should be the same when you used residence calculator as there too you have to give the date you become PR and then count days in only last four years. Hope it helps.

In between, when did u get the RQ?The RQ you shared with me is the old one and there is a new one released in Nov 2013 as we have heard that there are many changes in it.
