Recipients of RQs...Enough cowardice
How long are we going to take such mistreatment hands down?! For god sake people, CIC first started by declaring that the timeline for recipients of RQs to meet with a citizenship judge is between 18-24 month. Throughout such time, I really understood and appreciated the fact that, due to many fraudulent citizenship cases, CIC needs to do its due diligence of its citizenship applicants. I reasoned with myself that I am but one of thousands of people like me who are on standby waiting for such meeting. In my case I received a letter with such time table in July, 2010. I counted the days of when I will sit in front of a judge and present him with all my evidence proving my stay in Canada (Which I already furnished when I sent the filled RQ back in June, 2010). In October 2012 (Three months above and over the time they promised will take for me to sit in front of a judge), I called CIC's infamous help line only to be informed that the latest update on my file shows that my file was transferred to a judge and that, according to the telephone representative, it could take up to 15 more months for me to meet the judge. That was almost like a heart attack for me! I almost fainted from the shock! 15 months? Above and over the 27 months I have waited? I tried to inquire about an investigation channel or an ombudsman or a watchdog that monitors CIC's practices and their inhuman ways of dealing with their clients. The answer that I received from the “indifferent” representative was a very cold NO!
On January 2,2013, I called again to check on my RQ's status only to be informed that CIC has revised their timetable to meet a judge to 48 months. 48 months people....4 years people!
I swear Somalia would be ashamed to pull such reckless and inhuman treatment toward its own people! What in god's name is wrong with these people? Where the hell are we?

Based on the above, I have decided that I am not going to take it hands down. I am going to hit every door, I am going to call every News outlet who will give a chance to tell my story. I promise Jason Kenny that his office receiving a phone call from me daily. I promise that if all doors stay closed in my face, I will camp in front of 55 St Clair E.

People...for god sake, enough complacency! The people in that government department with Jason Kenny behind them are counting on us being intimidated and complacent! Let us move, let us stand up these people that are bordering on criminality.

Let us here, and from this forum, organize an action plan. These are our lives they are toying with for god sake, lets us show them that we are not only faceless client IDs.

Thanks god, finally somebody other than me wants to take a move, I was going to do the same thing, call newspapers and talk about my story. I am paying tax here, I am volunteering here, why I shouldnt have the right to vote like other Canadian?! Since 5 years ago, I left Canada only for 3 weeks, I was worried if I leave my case would be complicated, then now I have to wait another 4 years!!!!

Giving the fact that this issue is the most important issue in our lives, and giving the fact that we are held hostages by a bunch of bureaucrats who do not care about us and our pain, I suggest from here to create committees to include the following:

1- lobbying committee to organize meetings with opposition parties' MPs and other community and social groups. This committee is the most important and it will be in charge of creating a database for all RQ recipients and in which conservative MP riding. Upon compiling a list of such recipients, we will determine which conservative MP riding has the highest number or RQs. These recipients, with the help of the lobbying committee will organize sub committees to reach out to the said MP with one message and one message only, "Our Canadian relatives and friends in your riding will remember you come next election should your fellow MP (Mr. Kenny) does not address such gross, inhumane and undemocratic delay. When the MP sees that there is a potential of him/ her losing hundreds, and possibly thousands, of votes, that MP will move in our favor;
2- Media committee to keep on hammering the media and demanding CIC answer us;
3- Financial committee to raise fund for a potential class action law suite against CIC and media advertisements to spread the message (If each one of the thousands of people on RQ donate CAD$ 200.00, we will be able to hire the best Immigration law firm(s) to take our class action law suite); and
4- a committee to organize protests in front of all major CIC centers

Guys, if we do not stand up for our rights, no one will! Like the gentleman who replied back to me said, we are tax payers here...We are the ones paying Mr. Kenny's salary. Whoever is behind such criminal delay is counting on our fragmentation and complacency.

in my case i applied in feb 2010.
called for my test 2011 march,same day RQ.
from then just waiting waiting,and waiting,21 months nothing happened.

The first step is to gather as many RQ recipients as we can. We need masses guys, which we already have giving the fact that there are thousands of people in our boat.

I suggest we start a new thread in every internet, Immigration related, channel that allows us.

The next step is for us to hold town meetings in every major city to draft an action plan.

i contacted mp again wait till monday what answer do i get.
in mean time you can make a thread have time lines add on it.
then we can start collecting more people.
yesterday when i spoke to call centre i got upset at her,you guys said in september my file is reviewed by officer now you saying nothing happened yet,BS.
well you 100% correct we need to do something lets start collecting people first,iam at st clair office and you???

Hi Wael and Ali,

i didn't read your full story from the beginning, i read the latest messages from you.

i think you are from ME, and what we are doing in our home countries will not work in Canada. according to my experience and my friends experience if you follow up with them more, the more delay you will have. if you did problems to them you will be the only looser, and your file will be more complicated, you need them so be patient and calm down. i know it is a long time and we loose our patience by time but just don't think about it and let it go.

Its high time, there should be a meeting between RQ'ed applicants and plan how to proceed with this otherwise we will be stuck for another 4-5 years in waiting game after RQ submission.....enough said its time for an action
