Ok, another residence question. I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but am drawing at straws and ultimately want to get this correct so there are no further issues with my application.

So I moved to Seattle with my Canadian partner on January 1, 2010.
My application was submitted August 11th, 2010.

So basically I established residency on Jan. 1

Do I count trips to Canada or elsewhere on the RQ or count that as a whole block of absence? so the 227 days or so....
Because I go to Canada at least once a month to visit family and friends so could I say for example...

Left Canada Jan 1.
Returned Jan 22
Left Canada Jan 24
Returned Feb 16
Left Feb 20th

Would that add days back on to my residence time?
I'm guessing no, but have to ask.

Short trips to Canada also count towards your residency requirements. For your citizenship requirements, coming to Canada on the 16th of some month and leaving on the 20th gives you 4 days.

When you use the citizenship calculator, if you were living in the US for example from Jan. 1st to whenever but visited Canada in January and February, you could write absence from Canada from Jan. 1st to Jan. 22th and again from Jan. 24th until Feb. 16th and again from Feb. 20th etc.

Wow! I did not expect that answer! That probably gives me another 30-40 days!

Thank you!
