Reside in US with green card. Where to send Passport and get it back

Hi all,

Hope someone has experience in similar situation. I am applying for PR in Canada. I just got the email request for passport and photo. However, the email only has instructions for people currently living in Canada. I live in the US with US green card. I've sent email to CPC Ottawa but it might take some time for them to respond. I only have 30 days to send the required document. Can someone help please?

I would recommend responding directly to the passport request email sent and advise them you are in the US and need an alternate place to send the passport to since you are currently in the US. Generally, US applicants don't need to send in their physical passport because they are visa exempt. What country is your passport issued by?

aren't you visa exempt then? i forget what the visa status is for Chinese applicants?
