Hi,

I have tried the other threads related to PhD RA/TA work experience, but they do not answer one question, if you are actually just research assistant in a group. I have experience in NOC Skilll group 4061 of 2+ years. But I was also a RA where my only job was to work on a research project. I did not grade papers, have strict in- lab hours or needed to interact with 3 of my group members. I did this for 21 months, with a gap of 3 month in the summer when I worked as an intern in the same NOC skill group.

But according to the FSW none of this experience can be counted as I was still enrolled in Full Time study, and the fact that they are actually a different skill group altogether (NOC 4012 Teaching/Research Assistant). I was a research assistant working on my own NOC skill.

Question: Can I add this experience in the FSW?

Just want to chime in here. jeevsid is right. I worked as a research assistant as well as a teaching assistant while I was a PhD student in the U.S.
My PR application was approved in September.

Hi everyone,
I am planning to submit my express entry profile and I have two major questions that i need help with.

1. I have RA experience post my bachelors degree for 3 years. One is for 2.5 yrs at a reputed institute which i also have a publication record of while the other is for 6 months at a medical hospital. Will there be any issue with the second one because its not an institute/university.

2 I have also gained 4 months research experience in Canada with my supervisor after competing my MSc before starting my PhD. Technically I was still on study permit but had completed my degree. Can I include this experience as well to gain points?

Your help is greatly appreciated!
