I have a question about the updated work offer eligibility for the Pilot program. It states that personal care services in residential settings are considered. I work full-time as a Personal Care Aide (NOC 33102) in a retirement home, caring for residents with dementia. Am I eligible for the program? I would appreciate your help in getting the answer. Thanks!

Out of status individuals cannot apply for economic immigration streams. Your either need to restore your status if you are still within the 90 days or leave Canada.

But the IRCC page states:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/caregivers/home-care-worker-immigration-pilots.html

If you’re a home care worker without status in Canada
You may still be eligible for the Home Care Worker Immigration pilots under a public policy. A limited number of spots would be available.

Ah - I wasn't aware of that. This is very different than most economic immigration programs. I think you'll need to wait for more details to be available but sounds like there's a chance.

Hi All,

I have 2 questions for the people who are in the Canada:

1- Should we Create Express Entry profile for this Pathway or this completely separate path ? or how we can apply for this ?
2-should we asset Highschool diploma ? like my mom has her original diploma for more than 40 years ago :)

Thank you in advance!

What is your mother’s current status in Canada if she is in Canada?

My mom is 3 years work permit. Also her permit is eligible to work in healthcare
She must be on a special H&C work permit. If she graduate over 40 years ago that would put her in her 60s probably. If processing is years it may be very difficult to get PR while essentially being retirement age.

:) we will give a shot ( she works more than me! )

still want to know where is the portal for these type of applications? I’m assuming it will be announced

Watch the website. Not about working more than you it has more to do with the fact that she will not work longterm and add to the tax base. Also may have minimal retirement savings and qualify for a minimal pension placing more demands on Canada social welfare system. This program isn’t a replacement for parent sponsorship. You can certainly apply and see what happens.
